No other player besides Craig has had the last name of Biggio in MLB since the league started in 1849.​

​​In 1997, Biggio became the 1st player in MLB history not to ground into a double play during a full 162 game season. Two players, Augie Galan (1935) and Dick McAuliffe (1968), had previously played an entire season with the same feat, but did not play in as many games in their respective seasons.

​​​​​​In 1998, Craig Biggio became the second player in baseball history to collect 50 doubles and 50 stolen bases in the same season, joining Hall of Famer Tris Speaker.

Unlike many players, Biggio was only granted free angency once, on October 31th, 1995. On December 14th, 1995, The Houston Astros signed Biggio, which is regarded as one of the best moves in the history of the franchise.

​​​​​​Craig Biggio has been featured in 2 books and one movie clip. In 2002, sports writer David Siroty wrote the book "The Hit Men and the Kid Who Batted Ninth: Biggio, Valentin, Vaughn, and Robinson: Together Again In The Big Leagues" which traced the baseball lives of Biggio, Mo Vaughn, John Valentin, and Marteese Robinson from the playgrounds, through college at Seton Hall, and to the big leagues.

In 2008, sportswriter Michael Hart, a self proclaimed "huge fan of Biggio" wrote the book "Biggio:The Final Game". It was orginally supposed to be a gift to Biggio, but Michael decided to share tthe book with all the Biggio fans of the world. This book details everything that happened on September 30, 2007, Craig Biggio's final game. That includes: Pre-Game, Batting, Fielding, Running, and Post Game Reaction. This book also includes 120 photos, a foreward by former Astros pitcher Larry Dierker, and a afterword by Houston Chronicle columnist and ESPN Radio contributor Richard Justice.

​In late 2007, the movie High School Musical 2 was released. It was a big hit with fans of all ages. However, one song stood out: I Dont Dance.
